Expanding Grid Optimisation with Advanced Technical Limits Capability
Silicon Grid is pleased to announce that it has received an order to deliver Technical Limits capability across ten Grid Supply Points (GSPs) for one of its enterprise clients. This milestone reinforces Silicon Grid’s role in enabling smarter, more efficient energy networks through its advanced optimisation technology. The solution, powered by ZIV’s Twin Grid Platform and Silicon Grid’s Constellation technology, will form an integral part of the client’s Centralised ANM Southern Cluster.
What is Technical Limits and Why is it Important?
The Technical Limits framework is a game-changing approach that enables faster and more efficient grid connections for Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). By setting predefined GSP capacity thresholds, the system allows renewable energy projects to connect ahead of traditional transmission reinforcements. Instead of waiting for costly and time-consuming network upgrades, DERs can be managed dynamically within agreed capacity limits, optimising grid usage without compromising stability.

Seamless Integration into the Client’s ANM System
The Technical Limits module will operate as part of the Client’s Centralised Active Network Management (ANM) System, which optimises DER operations at the GSP scale. The Constellation optimisation engine will calculate optimal DER setpoints and deliver them directly to the ADMS System, enabling real-time network control.
