We’re Hiring – Test Engineer (Software QA) – Join Silicon Grid in Manchester
Silicon Grid is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team as we continue to develop cutting-edge software solutions for grid decarbonization. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a rapidly growing start-up, influencing testing strategies and automation frameworks for mission-critical energy applications.
What You’ll Do:
Develop unit tests using the Python unit test framework.
Configure automated test runs via Jenkins automation server.
Develop and execute performance tests, ensuring system reliability and efficiency.
Conduct manual exploratory testing on new software features.
Design functional tests and write test documents for client use.
Lead client-witnessed test sessions, ensuring software meets customer expectations.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years' experience in software testing, software development, or DevOps.
Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for quality assurance and automation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable Experience (Not Essential but a Plus!):
Test automation, API testing, and performance testing.
Familiarity with Python, DevOps, and Continuous Integration tools.
Hands-on experience with GitFlow, Linux, Jenkins, JMeter, Postman, or Selenium.
Interest in power systems and smart electricity grids.
